Visual Identity for Iceland’s biggest IT Conference
UTmessan is the largest IT event in Iceland. The purpose of the UTmessa is to highlight the importance of information technology and its effects on individuals, businesses and Icelandic society.
Challenge
In 2016, I was tasked with creating a brand-new visual identity for UTmessan, Iceland’s leading conference on information technology. The goal was to capture the spirit of innovation, the impact of technology, and the diverse audience the event attracts, from tech enthusiasts to business leaders.
I started by defining a visual language that felt modern, approachable, and versatile. This included a refreshed logo, a bold color palette, typography, and design elements that could work across both print and digital media. From there, I designed all the visual materials needed for the conference: banners, programs, social media graphics, signage, and more.
The challenge was to create a cohesive identity that could scale across multiple touchpoints, communicate the importance of technology, and still feel engaging and lively for attendees. Seeing the identity come to life across the conference materials and knowing it helped bring the event together visually was incredibly rewardin
